Description
The Morocco Military Medal, or Morocco Campaign Medal, was a decoration established by a Royal Decree on June 29, 1916, during the reign of Alfonso XIII. It was intended to commemorate combat operations and reward the troops who participated in the Morocco Campaign (1909–1927).
The silver version of the Morocco Campaign Medal—awarded to generals, senior officers, and junior officers—is oval-shaped. Its obverse features an articulated royal crown above the left-facing profile of Alfonso XIII, who is depicted in a full-dress officer’s uniform. The reverse displays an allegory of Winged Victory, accompanied by the coats of arms of Spain and Melilla, along with a crown. The ribbon is green and lacks any clasps.
