Russian Campaign Medal for Members of the Spanish Blue Division

Description

The medal is die-struck as a single piece from a non-ferrous metal alloy—brass—and features an eagle with an Iron Cross, finished in black enamel, at its center. The silver plating shows some corrosion from frequent use, but the medal remains in good condition. The reverse side features a chain border, with the Cathedral of Saint Sophia depicted in the center—including details such as the cupolas, where the crosses crowning the domes are rendered as distinct figures. It is attached via a triangular ring to a white cotton ribbon, which bears the national colors of Spain and Germany at its ends and is finished with a bronze-colored pin.
