IMPORTANT: Regarding the distributor’s mark, it was usually stamped or engraved on the inverse ricasso (the flat section of the blade just above the guard) with “Deutscher Offizier-Verein Berlin.” Since this was an association and not a forge, the production of the blade and fittings was subcontracted to leading manufacturers in Solingen, such as Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Cie (WKC) or Eickhorn. These daggers often featured high-end customization options on their blades, including standard anchors, floral engravings, geometric motifs, or premium damascened steel blades.
