Description

Extremely rare and scarce 150 cm tape (Mützenband) «Linienschiff Schlesien» for
sailor cap with the name of the class battleship «Schlesien» voted in 1905, sunk in 1945. These tapes were issued until 1938, from this date only those who wore them were able to wear them until 1940. In Gothic script type, the letters in bright golden yellow celleón threads (like aluminum thread, though it’s actually a kind of synthetic fiber of metal wire). No damage, slight age patina on the writing. The ends of the ribbon are cut at a diagonal angle to create the “swallowtail” effect when applied to the cap.
