Description

Cavalry Officer’s Sabre with “Lion’s Head with Red Glass Eyes”. Clean nickel-plated steel blade with the maker’s mark “Carl Eickhorn” and logo model from 1936/41. The black celluloid handle with wire wrapping, no chipping, retains its brass wire sheath intact, the gilded brass casting very well preserved, without losses, attached directly to the blade tang. Plain outlined shield encompassing crossed cavalry sabres, on the reverse a smooth vertical shield. Single-ring suspension steel scabbard free of dents, retains its original black paint, almost perfect as well. I repeat, almost perfect and rare to find from Cavalry. Length: 94.5cm.
