This is an absolutely original Ausweis or identity document from the “Gross-Paris” district (Befristeter Ausweis zum Aufenthalt in der Innenstadt von Paris) issued on March 28, 1941, under No. 506040, during the German occupation, to allow Gefreiter “Eberhard” to visit central Paris. The pass, as it is clearly stated, is “non-transferable and only valid upon presentation of the soldbuch.” It was signed by a lieutenant on behalf of the Commandant of Gross-Paris, and bears the stamp with official seal (Dienststempel). It measures 9.5 x 13.5 cm.

On the back are the regulations that had to be observed, information on curfew hours for different ranks and the address of the General Command (Platzkommandantur) at Place de l’Opéra No. 2.
