Kriegsmarine/ Early EM/NCO’S Buckle

Description

This is a very rare and difficult to find KM (Koppelschloß) buckle, made in several parts. The center part is made of iron with a gold anodized finish. On the obverse, we can see that the outer field in high relief is plain, and in the slightly domed center, a WH-style eagle in high relief, clutching a swastika (has lost color golden) surrounded by a twisted oak rope with the legend “Gott Mit Uns” (God with us) at the top. On the reverse, we see the two soldered points typical of this type of early buckles retaining the front plate, a stamped and raised semicircular clasp, and the intact bar and fastening teeth that pass through the tongue. It shows beautiful details with an attractive yellowing and patina of use. It has not been cleaned or touched.
