Description
Sailor’s “Donald Cap Duck” (Mannschaftsmütze der Kriegsmarine) of very good quality, manufactured according to the hallmark it bears in the city of Breda, Holland. It is made of excellent deep navy blue wool construction “Donald Duck” style sailor’s cap; the cap is fixed, and is made of a single piece. The front center of the cap has a separate, fire gilted, stamped alloy, national eagle with out-stretched wings and a three piece national tri-color cockade. Insignia is pinned to the cap in the typical fashion. Both insignia in very good condition. The ribbon is intact with Gothic “Kriegsmarine” script; said ribbon ends with its two “tails” cut diagonally, creating a “swallowtail” effect; only a small hole in one of them. Inside the cap, the leather sweatband is in perfect condition, and inside said sweatband is stamped “Breda, Holland”. The interior, which is blue synthetic silk, has an illegible stamp, but I believe it is the typical KM stamp with the year and the owner’s name “Gillner”. An excellent example of a WW2 KM Donald Cap Duck. No moth holes or tears. The cap is roughly size 56. Nice used example showing the expected age and wear.
Attention: From this same sailor “Gillner”, we have for sale his blue shirt with his name
