Description

Exceptional early case of the Imperial Order of the Yoke and Arrows, from the first period, early 1940s, with a hallmark bearing the initials “jS” on both crosses, indicating the manufacture of “J. Saz.” All work is done in gilt silver, onyx, and high-quality enamel by J. Saz; these early punnch are very rare to find.

The case consists of:

1/ Grand Cross/Commander’s Plate, a black cross of arms with gold fillets, on a gold circle with a silver interior, superimposed with a bundle of five arrows with a yoke, enameled in red with the inscription “CEASARIS, CAESARI DI DEO.” with punch. Mint

2/ Commander’s Cross, a neck cross with features consistent with the Grand Cross but with a plain reverse with punch. Mint

3/ Miniature buttonhole of the Grand Cross/Plaque of order. Mint
