Description
Kriegsmarine High Seas Fleet Badge (Flottenkriegsabzeichen). Made of a gold- and silver-plated non-ferrous metal known to the British as “tombak” and to the Germans as *Buntmetall*. The badge exhibits fine detail; the obverse features an oval oak-leaf wreath tied at the bottom with a ribbon and surmounted by a KM-style national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, with a central frontal depiction of a battleship cutting through the waves; the reverse retains a complete and functional pin and catch assembly. This is an early example that still shows the five bridge windows. The reverse bears the clear markings of the designer and manufacturer “Fec. Adolf Bock, Ausf. Schwerin Berlin”. It is in excellent condition, still retaining a beautiful gold finish on the wreath. A fine, original specimen in great condition!
