2nd Model Kriegsmarine Dagger by E. & F. Hörster whit Original Portepee and Chain

Excellent example of a Kriegsmarine officer’s dagger of the 2nd model (Dolch für Offiziere der Kriegsmarine) with its original portepee and chain. The fantastic blade fine etched blade to both sides showing naval motifs. The etchings retain much of the original darkening, and great contrast with the original luster of the blade. The blade ricasso is neatly etched with the commercial type manufacturer marking of E. u. F. Hörster in Solingen. White handle with intact wire wrapping. No chipping or cracks. Gilt brass fittings. The scabbard so-called “Blitzscheide” (lightning) is made from brass, gilt. Retains a wonderful original finish and is nice and straight with no dents or damage. Only a minimal and light tone of aging is observed in the brass accessories, practically without wear. The suspension rings on the scabbard are intact, and the push button scabbard release is still functional. He still has the chain. Overall, this is a really very nice dagger, in near perfect condition.
