Description
Ceramic plaque from the grave of Unteroffizier Franz Stiegler with his fire-engraved image serving with the 100th Mountain Infantry Regiment (Gebirgsjägers) in the Cretan campaign. He was killed in action on May 22, 1941 “bei der Überfahrt nach Kreta”. He was one of the dead soldiers of the Geb.Jäg.Rgt.100 who attacked Crete by boat. At the bottom is the legend: Rest in Peace! (ruhe in frieden). It measures 16 cm high x 12 wide. Very hard to find!!. Very nice.
