Very Hard to Find!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">A rare and last German passport stamped with the Jewish <strong>&#8220;J&#8221;<\/strong> (Judenstempel) dated October 12, 1939, one month after the start of WW2. It belonged to a businessman by named <strong>&#8220;Max Marcel Czapsko&#8221;<\/strong> born in Berlin on August 8, 1897. He was of medium height, with a long face, brown eyes, and gray hair, and had no special markings. He was travelling with his wife as indicated (&#8220;Beglitet von seiner Ehefrau&#8221;, although the passport was valid for one year, in the end they had to return and it was invalidated as indicated in capital letters by the word &#8220;UNG\u00dcLTIG&#8221;. It bears circular stamps with the eagle and the swastika together with the inscription <strong>&#8220;Polizeipr\u00e4sidium Berlin&#8221;<\/strong> (Berlin Police Headquarters), it is signed by the Chief of Police of Berlin, Division II.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Complete with its 32 pages and photo (Reisepass &#8220;J&#8221; for Jews) of the second model from 1936, when the Weimar eagle was replaced by a Hoheitszeichen (eagle and swastika) between the Deutsches Reich and Reisepass. German passports were generally valid for ten years, but this Jewish passport was only valid for one year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">It has various stamps, including a visa from the Consulate General of Chile in Bremen (Germany) on July 7, 1939, a stamp from the Consulate of Panama on September 13, 1939, a stamp from the &#8220;Deutsche Bank&#8221; dated December 1939, and a visa from the Consulate General of the Netherlands issued in Berlin on December 6, 1939, stating that the visa was authorized by the Visa Service &#8220;VISUM MET MACHTIGING VAN DEN VISADIENST&#8221;. There&#8217;s a note indicating they&#8217;re expecting a December 14 departure by boat from Amsterdam. There are inspection stamps from the &#8220;Puerto de Col\u00f3n&#8221; in Panama dated February 16, 1940.
